Monday I stayed home from work and took Mason to the Dr. He had an ear infection in the right ear and got a prescription for amoxicillin. We went to Walmart, which was an experience from HELL and then went home. Mason was very grumpy, feverish, and wouldn't eat anything for the rest of the day. Later that night, I tried to get him to eat something so he could take his meds and he refused. We decided that we would go to bed early, so I gave him his meds anyway and headed to bed. Before we even got our teeth brushed, he threw up all over the floor and himself. I wasn't too concerned, I just thought it was from not eating anything all day.

I put Mason to bed with me so I could keep an ear out for him, and make sure he didn't get sick again. Sure enough, shortly after 3 is woke up to him throwing up in my bed.

The next morning when we got up to take Jacob to school, I noticed that Mason had a rash on his face around his mouth. It kind of looked like his eczema, so I put cortisone on him and sent him on his way. Later that day, the rash had gotten a lot worse. It had turned into big blistery spots that were starting to break open. I called my mom and she thought it sounded like chicken pox or an allergic reaction to the antibiotics.

Wednesday, I took him to the Dr. again and she said that he has hand, foot, mouth disease. It is highly contagious as long as he has the spots and can't go to the babysitters till they are gone. Ryan and I have been taking turns staying home with him, which has been nice.

Now it has been 1 week and he still has the spots. They are starting to fade and go away. We have lucked out and nobody else has gotten them, YET!

My baby is sick!

Today the kids and I went to Toys R Us, their favorite store in the entire world. Jacob was not very happy because we were there to spend Mason's birthday money and Mason was not happy for unknown reasons.

After returning a few items we set out to look through the aisles. Mason was moaning and groaning and just not looking right. I asked him what was wrong and he said "tummy ouchy!" I bent down to kiss him and he was burning up. As we walked the aisles, he kept moaning and holding his belly. I just knew that his breakfast was going to revisit us.

We quickly decided to purchase some Tylenol, a Geo Trax set and some add on pieces and get out of there. We stopped at the mall and then Target and headed home. On the way home, we stopped at Steph's house to give Brandon his birthday presents and he was not happy. He refused to eat cake, didn't want crackers, or any other food item "knee knee" tried to give him.

Since we have been home, Mason has been up for about 10 minutes and cried the whole time. He hasn't eaten since breakfast this morning and hasn't really had anything to drink either. I noticed earlier in the day that he was pulling and poking at his ear. I the past, this tells me that he probably has an ear infection. So... off to the Dr. we go tomorrow.

I called into work, called all of my bus parents and let the baby sitter know that he won't be there in the morning. I hope it is something as simple as an ear infection and nothing like what I had a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that I could watch him go through that. It was hard enough for me to go through it, let alone watch someone else go through it. We will let you know what we find out...
