Pumpkin Patch Day!

So yesterday, Ryan, the boys and I went to the pumpkin patch. It was a great day; a little foggy, but it burned off and was warm in the afternoon! The boys and I look forward to going every year and this year was no different.

For the past three years we have been driving to Gervis to Bauman Farms. They have so much to do that we make a whole day of it. Usually we meet up with the Lux family, but they were out of town this year.

Jacob waiting to find the "BIG" one!

"Look Dad, I found one!"

This year Mason is old enough to really get into it. He knew that he was supposed to chose just one, but that was easier said than done.
Mason found a lady bug on a pumpkin.

The beginning of the search started out good. Mason would point at one and say, "This one! No, this one!"
He was afraid she would get lost.

We told them if they found one they had to carry it to the car! Ya right!

I can't believe how big they are getting!

Little scare crow!

"Come on Jacob, I will catch you!"

These slides are so much fun! They are just big irrigation tubes. Even Ryan and I went down!

Going on the hayride! Mason was busy looking at everything else, but Daddy!
We had such a blast! I can't wait to carve our gigantic orange blobs and make some roasted seeds!

Halloween-here we come- part 2!

So we have finally decided to get most of the Halloween decorations out and up! We spent all day last Friday, and the kids "helped" decide where they should go. We still need to put up some spooky spider webs inside and out, but for the most part, we are finished for this year.

On Halloween night, the fog machine goes out on the front porch and the spooky music is playing under the garage door! I have had a lot of people ask why the "haunted house" wasn't set up yet! It is hard for me to believe it is October already; it seems like Jacob just started school! I hope we are on the ball with Christmas!

What a day Sunday was...

So in a matter of 20 minutes, I managed to catch the burner on fire and blow up the microwave! I was defrosting some hash browns for Sunday morning breakfast and noticed the microwave was not working right. The light and the timer were still on, but it wasn't making any microwave type noises! I opened the door and tried it again with no luck! (dad came over and looked at it and he got it to shoot flames out the side; I think it's TOAST)

The hash browns were ready to cook, so I put them in a hot pan on the stove and away we went. Jacob and Mason were "helping" like usual and Jacob noticed the flames coming out from under the pan! He started to panic! I turned off the burner, got the lid and put it over the flames. They went right out! (the night before, I made stew and it boiled into the drip pan! I forgot to clean it, OOPS!)

It was a great teaching experience for Jacob. We have been talking a lot lately about what to do in case there is a fire or any other emergency! I reminded him NOT to panic.

So today; Mason, Brandon, and I are headed into town to purchase a new microwave and some drip pans for the stove! How fun!
